JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of the Dr. Michael and Catherine Bullock Recreation and Community Center, the Program Manager develops and manages content for drop-in youth and adult programs, recruits participation, manages all aspects of volunteers throughout the Missions, works with appropriate partners to supplement content, produces performance indicators and data.

 

Program Content

· Continuously understand youth and adult programming needs in the community and areas for Missions focus that complement but do not duplicate other organizations; develop and distribute regular needs analysis to senior management

· Works with Center Director to define program content for drop-in youth and adult programs

· Continuously assess and adjust program content in these areas for the drop-in program mode

· Provide continuous updates to Center Director on program actions

Program Administration

· Provide Center Director with administrative assistance as needed

· Assist in ensuring that all scheduling calendars are accurate and continually up to date

· Provide budget input to Center Director as needed

· Assist with Center opening and closing as needed

· Conduct child protect training once per month for staff and volunteers

· Assist with opening and closing of Recreation and Community Center as needed

Recruit Participation

· In collaboration with Center Director, develop criteria for target groups of program youth and adult program participants aligned with program goals and content

· Develop and manage plans for increasing youth and adult program participation

· Evaluate tactics and continually adjust to meet program goals

Volunteers

· Manage intake of all requests for volunteer roles in Selma

· Coordinate rural volunteer activities with the Director for rural programs

· Ensure volunteer onboarding includes for Apricot registration

· Provide volunteer onboarding internal seminar on Selma and/or rural situational data

· Ensure positive volunteer experience for duration of duties

· Conduct exit interviews or group discussion of experience

· In close coordination with Chief Program Officer, assist with summer academic-volunteer partnerships with the University of Notre Dame and Spring Hill College

Partnership Management

· In collaboration with Center Director, manage content for youth and adult program partnerships ensuring that Missions objectives are being met and that content is complementary to, but not duplicative of, Missions programs

· Ensure that partners adhere to Missions policies and procedures

· Conduct periodic evaluation of partner views of their relationships with the Missions, providing guidance to the Chief Program Officer on partnership improvements

Performance

· Input performance data into Apricot system

· In collaboration with Chief Program Officer, conduct periodic surveys and evaluations of programs participants to gauge program quality and salience to need

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • At least 4 years proven experience as a program manager or other managerial position
  • Possess a high school diploma. A Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration or a relevant discipline is preferred
  • Flexibility in availability. Able to work non-standard hours, evenings, weekends and public holidays as is necessary

 

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
