Shelter
The Missions coordinates a housing improvement program through each site that helps build porches and ramps for elders, minor home repairs and responds to families who lose their homes in tornadoes or fires.
Education
St. Edmund's Learning Center, Selma, offers after school enrichment for first through third graders, Mondays & Wednesdays and fourth through eighth graders Tuesday & Thursdays. Its summer enrichment program reaches about 60 children, ages 6 to 14 and employs teen tutors who learn job skills and serve as mentors and teachers for younger students. For adults it offers arts and craft classes Monday mornings and computer classes, adult enrichment and pre-GED skill training Tuesday-Thursday mornings. Elder Care
Selma Community Outreach offers a weekly education, exercise, arts and crafts, special events and meals to seniors in the city of Selma. It also offers outreach to nursing home and homebound seniors. Staff: Ethel Kinnerson, Director; Sister Margaret Martinek, O.S.F., Outreach.
